Covid-19 in Bulgaria: 246 Newly Infected, 27 Fatalities

In the past 24 hours, 246 new cases of coronavirus infection have been documented in Bulgaria.

Over the weekend, 5,853 diagnostic tests were made - 2,653 PCR and 3,200 antigen tests, as 4% are positive.

As of May 10, there were 44,881 active cases of Covid-19.

Patients hospitalized with COVID-19 were 5,912, in intensive care units 562 patients are being treated.

During the day, the disease claimed the lives of 27 people, 207 are documented as cured.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, there have been 16,929 deaths, 348,392 people have recovered.

The total number of confirmed carriers of coronavirus infection was 410,202, of which 13,255 were medics.

The most new cases are registered in Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna.

On Saturday, 5,645 doses of vaccines were given and the total number of vaccinated since the start of the immunization campaign is now 938,064. A second jab was given to 291,996 people.
