Industrial production prices increase by 8 pct in April

The prices of industrial production (internal and foreign market) increased by 7.9 pct in April 2021 over the similar interval of the previous year, shows the data published, on Wednesday, by the National Institute for Statistics (INS). At the same time, compared to March 2021, in April, industrial production prices increased by 1.2 pct. According to the quoted source, at the level of the internal market, the industrial price index recorded a 1.13 pct jump in April vs. March 2021, as well as a 8.20 pct jump in April compared to last year. Furthermore, in what regards the foreign market, the price increases were of 1.19 pct (over March 2021) and 7.33 pct (over April 2020). By large industrial groups, in April 2021 over April 2020, the most important increases in industrial production prices were noted in the: energy industry (+21.98 pct), the intermediary goods industry (+6.05 pct), the industrial use goods industry (+5.61 pct), the current use goods industry (+3.87 pct) and the capital goods industry (+2.15 pct). Taken together with the reference period, the INS data shows that, in some sections of activity, prices increased in: the manufacturing industry - by 7.36 pct, production and supply of electric, thermal energy, gas, hot water and air conditioning (+13.8 pct) and water distribution; sanitation; waste management, decontamination activities (+4.30 pct). At the opposite end there is the extractive industry, which noted a drop of 3.87 pct, in April 2021, over the same month of the previous year.
