Luka Dončić makes All-NBA First Team again
New York – Slovenian basketball superstar Luka Dončić has been selected to the All-NBA First Team alongside Greek Giannis Antetokounmpo, Serb Nikola Jokić and Americans Stephen Curry and Kawhi Leonard in what is a second All-NBA First Team pick for the Slovenian in his three seasons in the NBA.
Earning 55 votes, Dončić became the first NBA player since Tim Duncan (2000) to be selected by a global panel of sportswriters and broadcasters for the First Team at least twice in his first three seasons.
Dončić also became only the fourth basketball player in the NBA history to be selected to the First Team before the age of 23 alongside Max Zaslofsky, Rick Barry and Kevin Durant.
The Dallas Mavericks’ superstar has also received 41 votes for the All-NBA Second Team and 4 votes for the Third Team. Goran Dragić is the only other Slovenian to get voted to an All-NBA Team, making the Third Team in 2014.
Dončić has recently joined the Slovenian national basketball team for training camp ahead of the qualifying tournament in Lithuania’s Kaunas between 29 June and 4 July in which Slovenia will try to make the cut for the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
