Zoran Dragić quits EuroBasket due to injury
Berlin – Basketball player Zoran Dragić has quit the EuroBasket due to injury, the Slovenian Basketball Federation announced on Sunday. Dragić injured his thigh muscle at yesterday’s match against Belgium.
A medical examination has confirmed the younger of the Dragić brothers has sustained a severe injury of the muscle and will not be able to play for six to eight weeks, the federation said.
Dragić was injured at the end of the first half-time yesterday. “I’m clearly not destined to help the team in decisive battles at EuroBasket. But this sport is unpredictable,” he said.
Slovenia will take on Poland in the quarter finals on Wednesday evening and the team is already preparing for the game, according to coach Aleksander Sekulić.
