Vucic signs decision to boost number of army special troops

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has signed a decision under which the number of Serbian Armed Forces special troops will be increased.

According to the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia, the decision was made based on the Law on the President of the Republic and the Law on the Serbian Armed Forces.

The peace-time and war-time organisation of Serbian Armed Forces special troops needs to be upgraded organisationally to the projected number of personnel, the Official Gazette said, adding that the defence minister and the Serbian Armed Forces chief of general staff would pass the required acts for the purpose of the execution of the decision.

The Official Gazette also said the decision had taken effect on the day it was made, February 13.
