Two indicted for call to overthrow Serbian president

BELGRADE - The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade on Wednesday filed a bill of indictment with the local Higher Court against two men suspected of calling for a violent overthrow of the Serbian president.

The accused, Damnjan K, 34, and Dejan Z, 51, are charged with the prolonged criminal offence of calling for a violent change of the constitutional order, committed in complicity from February 12 through 15, including at a February 15 protest rally in downtown Belgrade.

The prosecutor's office sought one- and one-and-a-half-year prison terms for Dejan Z and Damnjan K, respectively.

It also requested that their detention be extended to prevent them from repeating the offence.
