Momirovic: Talks on free trade with China to begin

BEIJING - The level of Serbia-China economic ties is extremely high and Serbia is a major strategic partner to China in the Western Balkans, Serbian Minister of Internal and External Trade Tomislav Momirovic said on Wednesday in Beijing after signing a MoU marking the formal start of talks on free trade between the two countries.

On behalf of China, the document was signed by Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao.

"This is another major step to strengthening our economy further," Momirovic said, noting that Serbian exports to China had risen from 6 mln dollars a decade ago to 1.3 bln dollars in 2022.

This confirms that, through joint efforts, we have achieved enormous success and succeeded in developing our economic relations further, he said.
