Erdoğan congratulates Mitsotakis on Greek election win

The Turkish president's office on Monday said Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who was himself re-elected last month, called Greek Prime Minister and had "conveyed his wishes that the new period will be beneficial for Türkiye-Greece relations."

Conservative leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis embarked Monday on his second term as Greece's prime minister with a vow to accelerate institutional and economic reforms, after voters handed him an imposing election victory for the second time in five weeks.

"The presence of strong governments in both countries that have reassured their people presents an opportunity for future bilateral relations," Erdoğan's office said.
