Serbia, Republika Srpska sign memorandum to build Jasenovac memorial centres

BANJALUKA - The PMs of Republika Srpska and Serbia, Radovan Viskovic and Ana Brnabic, signed on Friday in Banjaluka a memorandum on a project to build twin memorial centres to commemorate of the victims of the WWII Jasenovac death camp in the Independent State of Croatia.

In the memorandum, the two governments expressed a commitment to build identical memorial centres in Donja Gradina, Republika Srpska as the former site of torture, physical abuse and mass executions of camp prisoners and Belgrade as the capital of Serbia to cherish the culture of remembrance of the victims of the Ustasha genocide in the pro-Nazi Independent State of Croatia, which culminated in the establishment of the Jasenovac death camp system.
