Kosovo Serb placed under 30-day house arrest

PRISTINA - A Kosovska Mitrovica basic court has placed a Kosovo Serb arrested at the Jarinje administrative crossing on Sunday under 30-day house arrest.

Lazar Janicijevic, a resident of Zvecan, was arrested by the so-called Kosovo Police on his way to Vrnjacka Banja in central Serbia, where he was supposed to attend the funeral of Stefan Nedeljkovic, one of the Serbs killed in the recent clashes in the Banjska village in the north of Kosovo-Metohija.

Janicijevic has been charged with illegal possession of weapons, the RTS has reported.

His defence has said no weapons had been found during a search of his home, but only photos of replica firearms.
