Kovacevski: High-speed rail line to connect Belgrade and Skopje

BELGRADE - North Macedonian PM Dimitar Kovacevski said on Friday in Belgrade a memorandum on cooperation in rail transport signed by Serbia and North Macedonia earlier in the day included the construction of a high-speed rail line that would connect Belgrade and Skopje via Nis.

At a press conference with Serbian PM Ana Brnabic, Kovacevski said the memorandum meant the construction of a high-performance rail line.

"This memorandum on cooperation is about a line whose ultimate objective is to connect Athens, Thessaloniki, Skopje, Nis, Belgrade, Ljubljana and Salzburg, and it will also have a leg to Budapest. Specifically, we discussed a Skopje-Nis-Belgrade section and connecting it with the Skopje airport," Kovacevski said.
