Serbia out of United Cup after Stevanovic loses to Australia's Tomljanovic

PERTH - The Serbia national tennis team is out of the United Cup after Natalija Stevanovic lost 6-1, 6-1 to Australia's Ajla Tomljanovic in Perth on Wednesday.

Winning after only 65 minutes of play, Tomljanovic handed Australia a decisive 2-0 lead in the quarter-final tie against Serbia.

Stevanovic was a stand-in for Olga Danilovic.

Previously, Alex de Minaur defeated Novak Djokovic 6-4, 6-4.

A mixed doubles match is also due to be played later in the day.

In the semi-finals, Australia will face the winner of the tie between Greece and Germany.
