Djukanovic: New elections to be held if no majority in Belgrade assembly
BELGRADE - Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) Presidency member Vladimir Djukanovic on Tuesday said new - not repeat - local elections would be held in Belgrade in case there was no majority in the city assembly.
Opposition representatives should show some proof of electoral fraud and irregularities, Djukanovic told Insajder TV.
"All records were signed by their controllers. They all agreed that absolutely everything was in order," he said.
Djukanovic noted that tensions were rising because opposition representatives were in trouble as they needed to be held to account by their voters after promising to win the Belgrade local polls and the elections for the Serbian parliament.
