Glisic: New elections in Belgrade in June or July if no majority in city assembly

BELGRADE - Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) Executive Committee President Darko Glisic said on Tuesday the constitutive session of the new Belgrade city assembly would reveal if there was a majority in the body or new elections would be held in June or July.

Speaking to Pink TV, Glisic said half of the municipalities where local elections had been held on December 17 had already constituted their assemblies.

"When the constitutive session of the City Assembly is held in Belgrade, we will see if there is a majority or not. If there is not, we will go to elections simultaneously with the municipalities where elections are due in June or July - we will add Belgrade to that. Certainly, all Belgrade municipalities will go to elections at that time, too," he said.
