Vucic: Serbia must assess its position regarding ammo production
TIRANA - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said in Tirana on Wednesday evening he had ordered the army to restock its ammunition reserves to 100 pct from the present 62 pct and that Serbia needed to assess its position regarding joint ammunition production by Western Balkan countries and Ukraine.
"Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina are the major producers in the Western Balkans. Serbia accounts for 50 pct of the production, Croatia for 30 pct and Bosnia and Herzegovina for 20 pct. So it is clear what this is about. I said we need to assess our position," Vucic told the RTS in response to a question whether it was realistic to expect Western Balkan countries and Ukraine to jointly produce ammunition.
He said he had told the same to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and added that the Serbian Armed Forces' ammunition reserves were about 62 pct full.
