Lajovic beats Ruusuvuori to advance to Indian Wells second round
INDIAN WELLS - Serbian tennis player Dusan Lajovic is through to the second round of the Indian Wells ATP tournament after beating Finn Emil Ruusuvuori 7-5, 6-2 on Thursday.
Lajovic, who won after 97 minutes of play, will next face Frenchman Frances Tiafoe.
Previously, Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic was knocked out of the tournament after losing 7-6, 6-4 to Italian Lorenzo Sonego.
Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the world number one in men's tennis singles, was seeded in the first round.
He will play Australian Aleksandar Vukic in the second round on Saturday.
