Lucic: 5G frequency bands to be allocated at end-2024

BELGRADE - Telekom Srbija CEO Vladimir Lucic said on Tuesday Serbian authorities would allocate 5G frequency bands at the end of the year and that almost the entire territory of Serbia would be covered by a 5G network by 2027.

Telekom Srbija is preparing for the future through a 5G network development plan as well as through artificial intelligence-based projects, Lucic told Prva TV.

"We are already prepared for 5G development as we already have a certain number of Ericsson and Nokia 5G base stations... ...so we are just waiting to get a frequency band and switch 5G on. In collaboration with Vodafone as our strategic partner and the world's biggest operator and 5G network, we are looking into what services we will implement," Lucic said.
