Ex-husband arrested for woman’s murder in Menidi

The former husband of a 40-year-old woman who was stabbed to death on Thursday in Menidi, eastern Attica was arrested in the suburb of Fyli, northwestern Attica later in the afternoon. 

Her body was found in the middle of the street with a knife still in her abdomen, at the junction of Parnithos and Aristotelous streets. She had sustained over 10 stab wounds, including injuries to her neck, chest, abdomen and limbs. 

According to reports, Enkeleida, an Albanian national, had filed three complaints of domestic violence against the suspect, 50-year-old Edward, over the past 11 years. The most recent complaint was filed on May 7. Following the last complaint she filed, her ex-husband, also an Albanian national, was arrested and charged with domestic abuse and is due in court on Friday.
