Djokovic undergoes knee operation in Paris

PARIS - Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic underwent a knee operation in Paris on Wednesday morning, the Italian sports daily Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

After suffering a meniscus injury in his right knee during a Roland Garros match against Argentine Francisco Cerundolo, Djokovic on Tuesday decided to withdraw from the tournament.

Italian media are reporting Djokovic will be sidelined for three weeks due to the operation and most likely skip Wimbledon.

The reports also say Djokovic wants to recover in time for the Olympic Games in Paris, which begin on July 26.
