The political thermometer is soaring in France – French expatriates have started to vote
Five days before the first round of parliamentary elections in France the electoral debate is heating up, and as of noon today the first French people began voting online, especially those of the one and a half million French people living outside France who have opted for electronic voting.
The French Foreign Ministry’s relevant platform opened at noon (French time), and will remain open until Thursday.
Also as reported by the French Interior Ministry, some 1.3 million French people have already exercised their right to authorize another citizen to vote in their place.
The first official televised election debate will take place this evening, when Prime Minister Gabriel Attal of Macron’s party, the president of the right wing National Rally party Jordan Bardela and Manuel Bobar of the new Popular Front of the left will cross swords.
Finally, there is strong reaction from the opposition against Emmanuel Macron, who said that the electoral programs of the extreme parties are leading France to civil war.
