Fire breaks out in forest area in Viotia

A fire broke out Thursday on agroforest land in Agios Vlasios, Viotia, Central Greece triggering a 112 emergency alert to nearby residents.

Forty firefighters, with two foot teams and eleven vehicles, are on the scene, supported by five aircraft and one helicopter.

Shortly after 2 p.m., residents of the village of Tsoukalades received a 112 emergency message to remain alert for a possible evacuation.

According to Athens-Macedonia News Agency (AMNA), the fire is burning forest lands under high winds, making it challenging.
