Paula Badosa made a triumphant return at Wimbledon U16

After battling a serious injury for a long period, Badosa showcased shades of her former self in her comeback, securing a spot in the London Open’s last 16.

Following an intense match that stretched nearly three hours, Badosa emerged victorious over her Russian opponent. She now awaits to face either Donna Vekic or Dayana Yastremska in the fourth round of Wimbledon.

Despite facing challenges, particularly in the first set where she narrowly clinched a tiebreak despite initially leading 5-2, Badosa displayed resilience. In the third set, Kasatkina initially broke to lead 4-2, but Badosa rallied back with four consecutive games to secure the win.

Upon returning to the locker room, Badosa was greeted by Stefanos Tsitsipas, who embraced her and expressed his pride, as he posted on social media, “I am proud of you.”
