Custody for arrested Kosovska Mitrovica Serb extended by two more months

PRISTINA - A Pristina court has extended the custody for a Kosovska Mitrovica Serb charged with alleged war crimes against civilians by two more months.

Sladjan Trajkovic was arrested in Kosovska Mitrovica on December 15, 2022 and has since been in custody.

He is a former officer of the so-called Kosovo Police who left the force on November 5, 2022, when all Serbs in the north of Kosovo-Metohija left Pristina's institutions.

In July last year, Trajkovic was charged with allegedly committing war crimes against civilians in the area of the Vucitrn municipality in 1998 and 1999.

In a statement to Tanjug, one of his attorneys said the court had rejected the defence's well-grounded arguments for mitigating measures.
