Dacic awards plaque to gendarme wounded in terrorist attack

BELGRADE - Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic presented on Monday a plaque to gendarme Milos Jevremovic for the courage demonstrated in a June 29 terrorist attack outside the Israeli embassy in Belgrade.

In the attack, Jevremovic was wounded in the neck by a crossbow arrow.

"We would like to present to him a plaque for exceptional courage and dedication in his police work, as a keepsake to mark his discharge from hospital," Dacic said at a Gendarmerie Squad base in Belgrade, where he welcomed Jevremovic alongside his colleagues.

Dacic said Jevremovic was out of hospital following a successful operation.

Jevremovic thanked his colleagues, Dacic and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic for having visited him in hospital during a difficult time for his family.
