Giorgio Armani turns 90 and is planning a big event in New York

He may be turning 90, but Giorgio Armani is preparing for his trip to New York to unveil his company’s new building and organize a fashion show to present his Spring 2025 collection.

The new building on Madison Avenue has been completely redesigned to include residences, an Armani/Ristorante, and new Giorgio Armani and Armani/Casa boutiques. Coinciding with the unveiling, Armani has decided to present his Spring 2025 collection in New York instead of Milan. The fashion show is scheduled to take place on October 17th, followed by a party, which is sure to attract a host of the designer’s friends.

As a result, the Armani show will not be part of the Milan Fashion Week calendar, which will run from September 17th to 23rd, and is separate from New York Fashion Week, scheduled for September 6th to 11th. However, the designer’s Fall 2025 collection will return to Milan in February as usual.

As for the designer’s milestone birthday, the most important fashion library/bookstore in Italy will dedicate all its spaces to him for an entire week. From today until July 19th, an exhibition will be open to the public for free at the library’s headquarters in Vanzago, a 30-minute drive from Milan.

The exhibition will feature what it describes as “an unprecedented number of publications dedicated to the great designer from 1974, the year of his debut, to the present day.”

More than 100 books, catalogs, magazines, lookbooks, and Armani videos from around the world will decorate the library’s spaces. These works will also be available for online viewing.
