Pieria: 44-year-old woman killed by falling sycamore tree branch

A 44-year-old woman was fatally injured when a sycamore tree branch fell on her while she was sitting in the outdoor area of a health food store in Litochoro, Pieria.

According to the National Police, the incident occurred yesterday at around 10 PM.

The woman was taken to the local Health Center, where she was pronounced dead by doctors.

Police arrested the store owner, but he was subsequently released on the verbal order of a prosecutor.

The Dion Olympus Police Department is conducting a preliminary investigation
