Boat explodes off Rhodes, five injured

An explosion occurred Sunday afternoon on a motorboat carrying six Italian nationals near Psaltos, Rhodes, injuring five of them.

The Coast Guard and private boats responded to the scene.

The injured passengers were evacuated to Agios Pavlos Bay and taken to a clinic, while the uninjured sixth passenger disembarked at Lindos Bay.

The Central Port Authority of Rhodes is investigating and has arrested the charterer and owner of the boat.
