Netanyahu: Meeting with Blinken Held in a Positive Atmosphere
The meeting between U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Tel Aviv concluded after three hours.
According to a statement from the Israeli Prime Minister’s press office, Netanyahu “reaffirmed Israel’s commitment to the current US proposal for the release of our hostages, which strongly considers Israel’s security needs.”
The statement also noted that the meeting was positive and conducted in a “good atmosphere.”
Earlier, the U.S. Secretary of State warned that this “might” be the “last” opportunity to reach a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas to end the war in the Gaza Strip, which has lasted for more than ten months.
“This is a decisive moment, perhaps the best, possibly the last chance to bring the hostages home, achieve a ceasefire, and set the world on the path to lasting peace and security,” Blinken emphasized during his meeting with Israeli President Isaac Herzog in Tel Aviv.
