Thierry Henry Resigns from France’s Under-21 National Team

Thierry Henry has resigned as the head coach of France’s Under-21 national team, citing personal reasons, according to a statement from the French Football Federation.

The former international forward, a member of the French squad that won the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000, took on the role a year ago. Among his responsibilities was leading the French U-23 team in the football tournament at this year’s Olympic Games, hosted by France.

Under his guidance, the French Olympic team reached the final, where they were defeated by Spain in extra time (5-3). A few days later, Henry decided to step down, despite having one year left on his contract.
