Stojkovic: Game against Spain to be celebration of football, I expect support from our fans

STARA PAZOVA - The head coach of the Serbia men's national football team Dragan Stojkovic said on Monday the upcoming UEFA Nations League A clash with European champions Spain would be a major celebration of football.

"A great celebration of football and an eventful autumn for Serbian football are ahead of us," Stojkovic said at a press conference in Stara Pazova, adding that he expected to see "support for our team" from Serbia fans.

"They need wind in their sails. There will be players who will make their debuts - I did not call them up to show that I am the one who is brave," he said.

In the opening match of its Nations League campaign, Stojkovic's injury-hit team will host Spain in Belgrade on September 5 and then play Denmark in Copenhagen on September 8.
