Paralympic Games: Silver Medal in the 100m Breaststroke for Tsapatakis – See Photos
The 36-year-old two-time Paralympic medalist delivered an impressive performance in the final of his event.
Antonis Tsapatakis made an incredible effort, even chasing the seemingly impossible task of beating world record holder Dmitrii Chernyaev (Russia). However, he fell just short of completing his comeback, finishing in 1:36.16, with Chernyaev winning in 1:32.20. The Italian Manuel Mateo Bruzzo followed in third place with a time of 1:42.52.
Tsapatakis: “Today is the first day I will admit that there is something I cannot do…”
Shortly after completing his thrilling race, Tsapatakis made sure to deliver one of the most powerful messages of the Paralympic Games.
