Are George Clooney and Brad Pitt’s famous crew returning to the big screen in “Ocean’s 14”?

You can’t stop a good thief from doing what they do best, and you can’t stop Hollywood’s top actors from playing thieves over and over. This rings especially true as George Clooney and Brad Pitt seem eager to make Ocean’s 14, the fourth movie that would reunite them as a pair of delightfully charming master thieves.

According to Deadline, the duo has approached director Edward Berger to lead their characters’ next heist. However, there’s a slight hitch—Clooney’s character, Danny Ocean, is supposed to be dead!

Last year, Clooney mentioned in an interview with Uproxx that he was open to reuniting with Pitt and the rest of the crew for a new film in the franchise. “We have a really good script for another movie, so we might end up doing one more. The truth is, it’s a very good script,” Clooney said, while hinting that it may not necessarily be called Ocean’s 14. He also added that the concept would be more along the lines of Going in Style (1979).

Earlier this year, Steven Soderbergh, the director of the previous three films in the series, confirmed his departure from the franchise, stating that the series was “done” and that there wasn’t anything more to add. Additionally, some members of the original “crew,” Bernie Mac and Carl Reiner, are no longer with us.

The original Ocean’s 11 was released in 1960, starring Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop. The 2001 remake, Ocean’s Eleven, featured George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Andy Garcia, and Julia Roberts, grossing $450 million worldwide and spawning two sequels: Ocean’s 12 (2004) and Ocean’s 13 (2007).

Clooney and Pitt recently appeared on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival for their upcoming movie Wolfs, set to hit theaters on September 20.
