iPhone 16: Queues in many countries around the world as it arrives in stores – See photos

Apple’s Apple’s new era focused on artificial intelligence officially kicked off Friday with the release of the iPhone 16, which is now available in the company’s stores in nearly 60 countries.

Although the iPhone 16 doesn’t initially include the Apple Intelligence platform, it’s one of only two iPhone generations that are compatible with the software. The first AI features will reportedly roll out through iOS 18 in October.

In fact, queues have been seen at Apple stores in countries such as the UK, South Korea, Singapore and Dubai. In Singapore, at the main store, queues started at 4am, with customers waiting to either pick up their pre-orders or purchase by visiting the store directly. By 9 a.m., about 300 people had formed a queue to buy the device, according to business insider.

Many of them had travelled from countries such as Vietnam and Sri Lanka, where Apple has no official stores, or from India, where there are only two company stores.

Similar images were recorded in London, where queues formed outside the two Apple headquarters stores.

However, pre-orders over the past weekend are estimated to have been around 13% lower than for the iPhone 15.
