Kataoka: New Japanese investment due in Serbia soon

BELGRADE - Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) President Susumu Kataoka said in Belgrade on Thursday he hoped Serbia would soon receive another investment from Japan and noted that, amid global geopolitical tensions, Japanese companies saw Serbia as a country with a strategic position.

Speaking at a Serbia-Japan business forum in the Palace of Serbia, Kataoka said the event was attended by representatives of 74 Japanese companies from various sectors, including the IT equipment sector, infrastructure, construction and finance.

He said there was great interest among Japanese companies in investing in Serbia.

He also said he hoped a visit by a Japanese business delegation would soon produce results in the form of new Japanese investments in Serbia.
