Samaria Gorge in Crete closes Sunday due to weather forecast

The Samaria Gorge in Crete will be closed at both entrances on Sunday due to forecasted rain.

Greece's National Meteorological Service has predicted up to 5 mm of rain, prompting the Natural Environment and Climate Change Agency (NECCA) to announce the closure to ensure the safety of visitors, employees and the natural environment.

Specialists will assess conditions over the next three days to determine when the gorge can safely reopen.
