Vucic: We will always respect rights of migrants but we will protect our country

KOMARNO - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Tuesday Serbia would always respect the rights of migrants and their human dignity but that the country would always protect itself as "order must exist."

Vucic was responding to questions from reporters after a trilateral meeting with Slovak and Hungarian PMs Robert Fico and Viktor Orban in Komarno, Slovakia.

Asked about Serbia's position on migration, Vucic responded that Serbia had no intention whatsoever of becoming a "migrant hotspot" and that none of the "bigger players" in Europe had asked him for that.

"No one has asked me if we want to be a migrant hotspot, nor does anyone dare to. I have no intention of discussing that," Vucic noted.
