Limnohori Florina: 14 people hospitalised by heating system fumes in a hotel

A serious incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning at a hotel business in Limnochori Amyndeon, in Florina.

According to initial information from kozan.gr, 14 people were taken to hospitals in western Macedonia with respiratory problems, some of them in an unconscious or semi-conscious state, due to fumes from the heating system (probably a carbon monoxide leak) in the tourist accommodation.

Fire and police forces assisted in evacuating the building.

At least two people are reported to be in a more serious condition, with one already intubated. The owner of the hotel business was arrested and is being held at the Amyndeon police station.
