Man who brutally beat up partner to face prosecutor

A 49-year-old man arrested on charges of causing grievous bodily harm to his 41-year-old partner who is in critical condition in a hospital in Athens, will be brought before a prosecutor in the southwestern city of Patras on Tuesday.

The victim was found badly injured and unconscious outside a hotel in Patras at dawn on Monday and transferred by ambulance to a local hospital. She was accompanied by her 49-year-old partner.

The medical exam established that the woman had a severe brain injury and a fracture of the occipital bone and had to be intubated and transferred to a hospital in Athens.

The police investigation revealed that her partner was waiting for the 41-year-old outside the hotel where she was staying and attacked her when sheeted the building.
