2024 US Elections: Trump holds significant lead in key state of Georgia, gaining 16 electoral votes – Also leading in Florida with 30 electoral votes

Republican candidate Donald Trump appears poised to secure Georgia, a crucial swing state that awards 16 electoral votes, where he previously won by a narrow 0.2% margin in 2020. With 19% of votes counted as of poll closures at 2 a.m. (Greek time), Trump leads with 62.5% compared to Democratic candidate Kamala Harris’s 37%.

Trump also leads in South Carolina (9 electoral votes) with 58.7% in early results, and in Florida, where with 70% of votes counted, he holds a 54.1% to 44.9% lead over Harris. Florida offers a substantial 30 electoral votes.

In West Virginia, Trump is ahead with 52.5%, securing its 4 electoral votes. He also claims Kentucky and Indiana, with 8 and 11 electoral votes, respectively. Meanwhile, Kamala Harris has won Vermont’s 3 electoral votes according to early projections. Trump had previously won Kentucky in 2020, though Joe Biden won the general election that year.

Apart from Vermont, Harris leads in New Hampshire (4 electoral votes) with 56.7% of the vote, based on 9% of ballots counted, and in Ohio with 54.5%.
