Major streets to close for Athens Marathon on Nov 7-10

Traffic restrictions will be introduced early on Thursday morning and stay in place until Sunday evening due to the 41st Authentic Marathon race and other smaller races over the weekend.

On Saturday, two consecutive 5km races will start at Amalias Ave at Syntagma Square to the Panathenaic Stadium between 5 p.m. and 8.25 p.m. Some of the streets affected include Vasilissis Amalias, Panepistimiou, Riga Feraiou, Akadimias, Vasilissis Sofias, Mesoghion, Irodou Attikou and around the Kallimarmaro Stadium.

On Sunday, the Marathon path will follow Marathonos Avenue to the Panathenaic Stadium through Mesoghion Ave, Michalakopoulou, Vasilissis Sofias and Irodou Attikou, among others from 9 a.m. to 17.45 p.m.
