Mbappé: Left out again from France’s Nations League roster
Kylian Mbappé was again left out of France’s roster for the upcoming Nations League matches against Israel and Italy on November 14 and 17.
The French captain was also absent from the October lineup as he was recovering from an injury, despite having played in Real Madrid’s final game before the break. Shortly afterward, Swedish media reported that Mbappé was allegedly involved in a rape case in Stockholm, though Scandinavian authorities have not officially confirmed this.
Meanwhile, Mbappé reportedly expressed that he only wants to play in “important games” for the national team, drawing significant criticism in France for his stance.
Didier Deschamps, who announced the lineup today (November 7), explained that Mbappé wanted to participate, but the decision was made solely for these specific matches.
Also absent from the roster is Real Madrid teammate Aurélien Tchouaméni, who suffered an ankle sprain in a Champions League game against Milan. However, Adrien Rabiot, who hadn’t been called up since EURO (due to being without a club and later joining Marseille but deemed unprepared in the last window), and N’Golo Kanté and Dayot Upamecano, who missed the October games due to injury, are both returning.
A new addition to the “Les Bleus” squad is 23-year-old Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier, taking the place of Alphonse Areola.
