Suspected arson sparks fire at Athens university administration building

A fire broke out Friday at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), prompting a swift response from emergency services.

The blaze erupted in the administration building located on the Zografou campus. Fifteen firefighters with five fire engines, along with volunteers, were dispatched to control the fire.

According to police officials, the incident is being treated as arson. State security officers are investigating the scene.

The alarm was raised by a campus security guard, who reported seeing masked individuals breaking windows and setting fire to the building.

No injuries have been reported, but authorities are seeking information on the suspects involved. The investigation remains active as officials work to determine the full extent of the damage and identify those responsible for the attack.
