Cyprus decision on Crete grid link this month 

Cyprus will reach a decision this month on whether the Cypriot state will join a subsidiary formed by Greece's Independent Power Transmission Operator (ADMIE) for the development of an electrical grid interconnection linking Crete and Cyprus, according to a leading Cypriot government official.  

George Papanastasiou, Cyprus's Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry, provided a latest update on Cyprus's stance concerning the project during a Finance Committee meeting on Friday, held to discuss the ministry's 2025 budget.

Nicosia's decision will heavily rely on the findings of two independent studies, one conducted by a US consultancy and the other by the European Investment Bank.
