‘Arrogant’ Mitsotakis lost nerve, is cut off from party base, Samaras hits back
Former PM Antonis Samaras is not going down quietly.
In a lengthy statement issued shortly after his expulsion from the party he once led, Samaras accuses Mitsotakis of being cut off from the party base and of leading a party that bears little resemblance of what New Democracy is and what it stands for. He chalenges Mitsotakis totell him where his criticism of government policies and actions is mistaken.
"Arrogance and an obvious loss of nerve explain Mitsotakis' move. Cut off from the (party) base, he is leading a party that hardly resembles New Democracy," Samaras' lengthy statement begins.
