Cyprus posts big recovery on bad loans
Cyprus is starting to see some positive shifts in its financial sector, particularly when it comes to tackling nonperforming loans (NPLs). This is an important issue for the country, as bad loans have weighed heavily on its economy in recent years. But this year, things are looking up, and it's a sign that Cyprus is making real progress.
A recent report by Morningstar DBRS Ratings highlights the progress in three major NPL projects in Cyprus: Hestia Financing, Titan Financing and Capella Financing. These projects had initially struggled, but they've been showing impressive recovery. In particular, Capella has managed to boost its annual collection rate by 5.8%, while Titan and Hestia, though showing more modest improvements, still saw their collection rates rise by 1.7% and 3.8%, respectively.
