PM: Greece to repay €5 bln in bailout loans by 2025
Greece plans to repay at least €5 billion ($5.3 billion) in bailout loans by 2025, well ahead of their scheduled maturities between 2033 and 2042, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has said.
"We've been ruthlessly focused on fiscal discipline," Mitsotakis told a Bloomberg event in Athens on Monday. "It's an indication of the confidence we have in our public finances."
The move is said to underscore the country's remarkable economic recovery more than a decade after it faced the prospect of leaving the eurozone.
