Serbia's Borkovic wins FIA TCR World Tour race in Macau

MACAU - Serbian racing driver Dusan Borkovic clinched the first-ever FIA TCR World Tour victory for Serbia by winning the season-ending Macau Guia race on Sunday.

Starting Race 2 from the fourth position, Borkovic broke into the lead in Lap 7 after a series of overtakings and went on to win.

"I am delighted! I am speechless. This is the biggest success of my career. Not only is this the first-ever win for a Serb at the FIA World Tour but also a victory at the 71st Macau Grand Prix race. I could only dream of this when I was a child! A big thank you to all my fans, my family, my team, my team mates Esteban Guerrieri and Marco Butti, with whom I shared the podium today," Borkovic said after the race.

Defending champion Norbert Michelisz of Hungary, who finished in fifth place, won a second consecutive TCR World Tour title.
