One Direction reunited after 10 years for Liam Payne’s funeral

The funeral of One Direction singer Liam Payne is taking place today, Wednesday, November 20, in England. The singer passed away last month at the age of 31 after falling from the third-floor balcony of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Their presence at the ceremony marks their first reunion in nearly 10 years. Zayn left the band in March 2015, and the remaining members announced in August 2015 that the group would go on an indefinite hiatus.

In an emotional statement released last month, One Direction expressed their grief over Liam Payne’s death, writing:

“We are completely heartbroken by the news of Liam’s passing. In time, when everyone is ready, we’ll have more to say. But for now, we’ll take time to mourn and process the loss of our brother, whom we loved deeply. The memories we shared with him will always be cherished.
