Mitsotakis meets Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in Athens

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in Athens on Monday.

"You had an exceptionally successful visit, as always. You know how much we admire you, how deeply the Greek people love you. Your presence in our homeland during these challenging and turbulent times always strengthens us. You are a source of inspiration, wisdom and clarity—qualities we need now more than ever, said the prime minister.

The patriarch is visiting Athens for a conference, organized by the theological school of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

In response, the Ecumenical Patriarch thanked the prime minister, saying: "I bring the love and blessings of the mother church to you personally and to all the devout people of Greece."
