Authorities focus on production date of plastic bag found in Ambelokipi apartment

An investigative magistrate heading the inquiry into the October 31 explosion at an apartment in the central Athens neighborhood of Ambelokipi, has asked the police's counter-terrorism unit to determine the production date of a plastic garbage bag which was recovered in the rumble.

The blue-black bag with white drawstrings, which contained a firearm and a magazine, also had a fingerprint that belongs to Nikos Romanos, a 31-year-old self-proclaimed anarchist who previously served a prison sentence for his participation in an armed bank robbery in 2013. 

The investigation of the police counter-terrorism unit is taking place in collaboration with household products company Sanitas to determine the year that this specific type of garbage bag was first released.
